Apparatus Required Potentiometer, driver cell (battery), rheostat, galvanometer, jockey, given cell, key, voltmeter (optional), connecting wires. Principle A potentiometer works on the principle that the potential drop across a uniform wire carrying steady current is directly proportional to its length .
