Rotational Dynamics

Introduction:
Kinetics:
Kinematics : in this chapter we describe various motion without discussing their cause. Various parameter discussed in kinematics are distance , displacement, speed , velocity and acceleration
Dynamics: In dynamics we describe the motion along with its cause , Which is force or torque. Parameters discussed in dynamics are momentum , force , energy, power etc.
Everyday life we came across several revolving objects(rigid body). During revolution the particle of the object follow a circular path about some point.
Direction of angular quantities by right hand thumb rule
If we curl fingers in the direction of revolution of particle in circular motion the outstretched thumb gives the direction of angular quantities.
The maximum speed with which vehicle can negotiate the curved path is called the safe speed. If the speed is more than that safe value it will skid away that is outward.
Banking of a road
The process of raising outer edge of the road over its inner edge through certain angle is known as banking of road.
Angle of banking: The angle made by the surface of road with horizontal surface is called angle of banking.
M= mass of the vehicle r = Radius of curve path W=Mg= weight of vehicle
N= normal reaction
f = frictional force
V= speed of vehicle
θ = angle of banking.png)
For a particular road, r and θ are fixed. Thus, this expression gives
us the expression for the most safe speed (not a minimum or maximum speed) on this road.
